Erongo is Namibia’s most visited coastal and central region, stretching from the Atlantic seaboard at Swakopmund and Walvis Bay inland to the granite domes of Spitzkoppe and the Erongo Mountains. It has more campsites in our directory than any other region — from full-service coastal caravan parks to remote fishing spots along the Skeleton Coast and rustic bush camps near ancient San rock art. Erongo works well as a base for both beach time and desert scenery without the long drives needed elsewhere in the country.
Directions: On Farm Omandumba, 50 km southwest of Omaruru at the edge of the Erongo mountains. No 4×4 required.
Activities: Visits to San rock paintings and the Living Museum of the San, walking trails, rock climbing, game drives, birdwatching.

Directions: Lux Klip Fishing Area is one of the numbered/named fishing spots along the Dorob National Park coastline along the coast near Henties Bay.
Activities: Shore angling (galjoen, kabeljou, steenbras and other surf species), 4×4 beach driving on designated tracks.

Directions: On the Ugab River, 45 km north of Uis (right-hand side just past the D2344 junction), about 1h–1h20 from Twyfelfontein.
Activities: Visits to the neighbouring Himba village, elephant tracking, local cooking classes.

Directions: Wlotzkasbaken is a small holiday settlement on the Atlantic coast, roughly halfway between Swakopmund and Henties Bay, within the Dorob National Park.
Activities: Shore angling — the village hosts the annual “Marterpfahl” angling festival between Christmas and New Year. Extensive lichen fields surround the settlement.

Directions: Witklip Fishing Area is one of the numbered “mile” fishing spots along the coast within Dorob National Park, north of Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast road.

Directions: Brandberg Elephant Rock Campsite is in the Tsiseb Conservancy, about 40km west of Uis and 127km from Henties Bay.
Activities: Mountain hiking, paragliding, and wildlife viewing (mountain zebra, springbok, ostrich). Close to the famous White Lady rock paintings at Brandberg Mountain.
