While enjoying your visit at Camp Cornie you can search for giant crocodiles on the rivers white sand banks, throw in a line and see how many of the 61 different species of fish you can catch or search for the beautiful and abundant bird life, as well as a tour to the local Himba village. All this while you sip a cold beer at the swimming pool or bar with access to WIFI.

    Otjikandero Himba Orphan Village, the ultimate Ovahimba cultural experience suited about 20 km outside Kamajab on Farm Cauas-Okawa. The Himba Orphan Village will give you an in-depth experience of the Himba tribe living in their Heritage. The Himba Tribe is one of the last tribes in Namibia who still embrace centuries-old traditions and customs. Otjikandero Himba Orphan Village was started in 1999 and is developed as an uncommercial tourist attraction. Enjoy this guided tour with warm friendly guides around an authentic Himba Village. The funds generated by these tours are used to take care of the orphans and the families on the village. This tour is an amazing photographic and souvenir collection opportunities.

    Directions: from Outjo to Okaukeujo C38 Tar Road, then D2695 Gravel Road for 30 Km Omapaha Himba Village is a link to Otjikandero Himba Village. The two villages are working together to support and maintain the Ovahimba culture so they can continue living the original life of the tribe and support the orphans in the tribe.     Walking Tour (approx. 2.5h) N$ 450.00 per group A walk up the Ongongo creek to the upper level, following the stream all the way to its origin where a massive tree shelters the natural spring. From there we continue in a north-westerly direction, hiking up and out of the canyon. High on the plain we walk for a couple of hundred metres with vistas to the west. We then continue along the mountain range, ascending to the secret caves of Warmquelle. Let’s see what treasures await us there. After taking a quick breather we descend back onto the plain and head back to camp. Water and snacks need to be provided by the guests themselves.

    Campsite Rules: Please respect your neighbours at all times. No loud music allowed at all. No music allowed after dark unless you are the only ones there. Sound carries far in the wild. Please be considerate and keep noise levels reasonable at night as well as in the mornings.

    Please do not dump all your rubbish with us. There is no official dumpsite close by and we would like to keep the impact on the immediate environment to a minimum. Please take your rubbish to the next town if possible
