Region: Khomas
Khomas is home to Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, and the surrounding highland farmland of the Khomas Hochland. Campsites here suit both overnight stopovers for travellers arriving or departing via Hosea Kutako International Airport and weekend trips for locals, ranging from guest farms in the mountains west of the city to riverside camps a short drive from the CBD.

Camp Omunguindi ( Ankawani Safari Ranch)
Directions: On Ankawini Safari Ranch, a 7,000 ha private game reserve about 90 km from Windhoek at the foot of the Langbeen Mountain. Large 4×4 recommended for the access road.
Activities: Hiking, game/scenic/sundowner tours, self-drive (200+ km of reserve roads) or guided game drives. Home to 30+ antelope species and 50+ bird species.

Nauams Rest Camp
Directions: Roughly halfway (about 153 km) between Windhoek and the Sossusvlei entrance gate.
Activities: Cycling and hiking trails, gravel scenic drives, Trail of Bones bushman painting hike.

Camping (Tsondab Valley Scenic Reserve)
Directions: 8 km north of Solitaire, bordering Namib-Naukluft Park on two sides, near the Naukluft Mountains.
Activities: Hiking among petrified dunes, marble mountains and Camelthorn savannah; swim in a natural pool; guided dune drives (book in advance).
Amenities:
- 3 campsites under acacia trees with windbreak, water tap, movable fireplace and stone table
- Open-air hot/cold showers built into the limestone plateau

Arub Camp Site
-22.87558, 16.69054 Arub Camp is located About 60 km west of Windhoek in the Khomas Hochland. Road C26 – D1982.
The MAIN CAMP is perfect for big groups up to 40/50 people. Ideal for bachelors/birthday parties and kids camps. Camp on a lawn with shade trees, it is located behind the dam wall. Rate is N$ 150 pp per NIght
BUSH CAMP for smaller groups up to 15 people. It is located next to the dam. Rate is N$ 180 pp per NIght
Rate for Camping is N$ 150 per person, kids under 6 years free.

Bosua pass view point
Note: Bosua Pass is a scenic mountain viewpoint on the C28 between Windhoek and Swakopmund, not a campsite itself.
Elevation 1,728m, with one of Namibia’s steepest road descents (up to 20% gradient) off the Khomas Highlands. Loose rock and gravel – a sturdy 4×4 is recommended, and trucks/caravans/trailers are not permitted uphill.
