Rooi Dak Padstal ( at Barkhan Dune Retreat)

-23.74544, 16.04466 This is no ordinary padstal. This is a unique spot for the adventurer at heart. The Rooi Dak Padstal is situated only 20km down from the breathtaking Spreetshoogte Pass. Stop by the Padstal on your way to Sesriem or Sossusvlei for a drink, a snack, or a hearty meal on the veranda. Or, if you simply want to enjoy an ice cold beer, we have a special feature just for that; the Bottoms Up fuel pump beer machine! It is a first in the world innovation, and we guarantee you will want to stop here again on your way back from Sesriem.

While you soak up the scenery and enjoy a refreshment at Rooi Dak Padstal, you can also browse for the perfect gift or souvenir for a loved one (or for yourself). We have a wide selection of Namibian-made artisanal products available, such as pampering products, rustic home décor, clothing and shoes, artworks and photography prints and more!

Once you are well fed and hydrated, and you have enjoyed some retail therapy, you need to stop by our key attraction – the infamous Soviet rocket! It certainly will make for a good photo opportunity. You may be wondering how and why a Soviet rocket ended up in the middle of nowhere in the Namib Desert, so come and find out from our friends Rasputin and Nazalinsky at the Rooi Dak Padstal. +264 83 000 0007/ +264 81 389 7670/ +264 81 389 7670/ www.barkhan.africa
