Park / Reserve: Skeleton Coast

Namibia’s Skeleton Coast stretches from Swakopmund north through Henties Bay and the Dorob and Skeleton Coast National Parks, a foggy, wind-scoured shoreline littered with shipwrecks and prized by anglers for galjoen, kabeljou and steenbras. Dozens of named fishing spots dot the coast road north of Henties Bay, each with its own basic pull-off camping area, while Swakopmund and Walvis Bay offer full-service coastal camping with restaurants, activities and easy access to the Cape Cross seal colony and Dorob National Park’s lichen fields.

    -22.64214, 14.63663 / Our camp is located on the West coast of Namibia just 12 km from the popular coastal region of Swakopmund and right in the lush area of the Swakop River. Our Sophia Dale Base Camp is located 12 km inland from Swakopmund.

    A sign on Main road will lead you from the B2/A2 to the “SWAKOP RIVER PLOTS” after 800 m we are on the right hand site.
