Park / Reserve: Waterberg Plateau

The Waterberg Plateau rises abruptly out of the surrounding bushveld near Otjiwarongo, a sandstone table mountain that shelters some of Namibia’s most successful rhino and rare-antelope conservation projects. Campsites at the foot of the plateau make a good stopover between Windhoek and Etosha, with hiking trails onto the plateau itself and game drives run by Waterberg Plateau Park in the surrounding conservancy.
