About this campsite

Note: Omatako Dam itself (about 100 km north of Okahandja) is a water-supply dam, not a campsite. The nearby Omatako Valley Rest Camp is a community-run option in the area.

Directions (Omatako Valley Rest Camp): On the C44 gravel road, 55 km north of Grootfontein and 11 km past the veterinary fence checkpoint – suitable for any vehicle.

Amenities:

  • Campsites with braai areas (bring your own grid)
  • Water taps, hot showers and flush toilets in a shared ablution block
